# Cutting time-to-interactive from four seconds to under one

Client: Landmark Logistics
Industry: Freight & logistics
Published: 2025-11-04

A performance-first rebuild of a lead-generation site that was losing visitors before it finished loading.

---
Landmark Logistics runs paid search campaigns that send freight operators to a quote-request form — a page that, on the old stack, took over four seconds to become interactive on a typical mobile connection. Every second of that delay was a paid click walking away before the form even rendered.

## What we did

- Rebuilt the marketing site static-first, replacing a client-rendered single-page app with server-rendered HTML and near-zero JavaScript on the landing pages that mattered most for paid traffic.
- Restructured the quote-request form to defer non-critical scripts and load the platform's form widget as a bundled, CSP-safe asset instead of a blocking third-party tag.
- Audited and compressed every hero image and font asset feeding the top five landing pages by ad spend.

## Outcome

Time-to-interactive dropped from 4.1 seconds to 0.9 seconds, and the Lighthouse performance score for the primary landing page went from 51 to 97. Quote-request conversion rate on paid traffic improved 21% in the eight weeks following launch, with no change to ad spend or targeting.

## Results

- **Time to interactive:** 4.1s → 0.9s
- **Lighthouse performance score:** 51 → 97
- **Quote-request conversion rate:** +21%

## Client quote

> The performance difference was immediate and obvious. Our old site took four seconds to become interactive. The new one is under a second, and it shows in the conversion numbers.
